Zakir-Naiks-lies-and-hypocrisy-about-Kalki

In a video, Zakir Naik claimed that the Kalki Avatar mentioned in Hindu scriptures actually refers to Islam’s so-called prophet, the murderer-robber-rapist Muhammad. He presented arguments in favor of this claim by quoting from the Bhagavata Purana, Kalki Purana, and other Hindu scriptures. Here, I will refute his claims from a Hindu perspective and explain why this interpretation does not align with the original intent of Hindu scriptures.

Refutation of Zakir Naik’s Claims:

Zakir Naik claimed that the prophecy about Kalki Avatar in the Bhagavata Purana and Kalki Purana supposedly matches the life of the so-called prophet, the murderer-robber-rapist Muhammad. He analyzed various verses and reached this conclusion. But a proper analysis of the actual meaning and context of Hindu scriptures shows that this claim is baseless and distorted. Below is the refutation of his main arguments:

1. Kalki’s father’s name is ‘Vishnuyasha,’ and Muhammad’s father’s name is ‘Abdullah’:

Zakir Naik says that ‘Vishnuyasha’ means ‘devotee of Vishnu’ and ‘Abdullah’ means ‘devotee of Allah,’ so both are the same. However, the Bhagavata Purana (12.2.18) states:

"Śambhale Viṣṇuyaśo nāmnaḥ pitrā Kalkiḥ prakīrtitaḥ."
(Translation: Kalki will be renowned as the son of Vishnuyasha in the village of Shambhala.)

Here, ‘Vishnuyasha’ is the proper name of a specific person, who is Kalki’s father. It is not a generic descriptive word. ‘Abdullah’ is an Arabic name that has no Sanskrit or spiritual connection with ‘Vishnuyasha.’

2. Kalki’s mother’s name is ‘Sumati,’ and Muhammad’s mother’s name is ‘Amina’:

He claims that ‘Sumati’ means ‘peace,’ and ‘Amina’ also means ‘peace.’ But the Kalki Purana (2.11) states:

"Viṣṇuyaśaḥ Sumatyāṁ ca jātaḥ Kalkiḥ sanātanaḥ."
(Translation: The eternal Kalki will be born to Vishnuyasha and Sumati.)

‘Sumati’ in Sanskrit means ‘good intellect’ or ‘wise mind,’ not ‘peace.’ ‘Amina’ means ‘trustworthy’ or ‘safe,’ which does not match ‘Sumati.’ It is the specific name of a mother who will give birth to Kalki.

3. Shambhala Village and Mecca:

Zakir Naik says that ‘Shambhala’ means ‘place of peace,’ which matches Mecca. However, the Bhagavata Purana (12.2.18) states:

"Śambhale grāmanāyake Viṣṇuyaśo nāmnaḥ pitrā."
(Translation: In the village of Shambhala, where the village chief Vishnuyasha resides.)

According to Hindu tradition, Shambhala is a specific location in northern India (possibly near the Himalayas). Mecca is a city in Arabia, with no geographical or scriptural connection to Shambhala.

4. Kalki Will Be Born on the 12th Day of the First Half of the Madhava Month:

Zakir Naik says that Muhammad was born on the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal. However, the Kalki Purana (2.15) states:

"Mādhave māsi śuklapakṣe dvādaśyāṁ janma Kalkinaḥ."
(Translation: Kalki will be born on the 12th day of the bright fortnight of the Madhava month.)

‘Madhava’ refers to the month of Vaishakha (April-May in the Hindu solar calendar), which does not match Rabi' al-Awwal (a lunar month).

5. Kalki Will Be Assisted by Four Companions:

Zakir Naik compares this to the four caliphs. However, the Kalki Purana (2.5) states:

"Caturbhiḥ sahitaḥ sakhyaiḥ dharmaṁ saṁsthāpayiṣyati."
(Translation: With four companions, he will establish Dharma.)

These four companions are Kalki’s associates, who will help restore Dharma at the end of Kali Yuga. The role of Muhammad’s caliphs was to spread Islam, which is different from Kalki’s mission.

6. Kalki Will Ride a Horse and Fight with a Sword:

The Bhagavata Purana (12.2.19-20) states:

"Jagatpatiḥ Kalkiḥ tīkṣṇa-khaḍga-dharaḥ śubhāśvārūḍhaḥ duṣṭān hanti."
(Translation: Lord of the world Kalki, holding a sharp sword, will ride a noble horse and destroy the wicked.)

Kalki’s battle will be a great war at the end of Kali Yuga, where he will eradicate all unrighteousness. Muhammad’s battles were historical events that do not align with this universal goal.

7. Kalki Will Be Assisted by the Devas:

The Kalki Purana (2.7) states:

"Devaiḥ sahāyitaḥ saṁgrāme Kalkiḥ śatru-nāśakaḥ."
(Translation: Kalki, aided by the Devas, will destroy enemies in battle.)

Here, ‘Devas’ refers to Hindu gods (such as Indra, Agni, etc.), which is different from the Islamic concept of angels.

8. Kalki Will Be Born in Kali Yuga and Establish Dharma:

The Bhagavata Purana (12.2.21) states:

"Kaleḥ samāptau Kalkiḥ jātaḥ satyaṁ pratiṣṭhāpayati."
(Translation: At the end of Kali Yuga, Kalki will be born and establish Satya Yuga.)

Kali Yuga lasts for 432,000 years, and Kalki will appear at its end. Muhammad was born near the beginning of Kali Yuga (about 1,100 years after it started 5,100 years ago). He did not establish Satya Yuga but rather propagated a new imitation religion.

9. Kalki’s Eight Qualities:

The Bhagavata Purana (12.2.20) mentions:

"Aṣṭaguṇaiḥ samanvitaḥ Kalkiḥ viśiṣṭaḥ sarvaloke."
(Translation: Kalki will be endowed with eight special qualities.)

The Kalki Purana lists these qualities as wisdom, self-restraint, nobility, knowledge, valor, generosity, gratitude, and measured speech. These qualities are specific to Kalki, but Muhammad was a murderer-robber-rapist.

Hindu scriptures state that Kalki is the tenth avatar of Lord Vishnu, who will descend at the end of Kali Yuga. The Bhagavata Purana (12.2.19) states:

"Kalkiḥ Viṣṇuḥ svayaṁ yāti duṣṭa-hantā dharma-sthāpakaḥ."
(Translation: Kalki is Vishnu himself, who will come to destroy the wicked and establish Dharma.)

The murderer-robber-rapist Muhammad spread Islam, but he is not an avatar of Vishnu, nor did he establish Satya Yuga at the end of Kali Yuga. Zakir Naik’s interpretation forcefully misuses scriptural verses out of context. According to Hindu belief, Kalki has not yet arrived and will come in the future.
